Confidential domestic violence programs which offer a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups and community referrals. There are fifteen shelters across the state of Utah. Utah's toll free number is 1-800-897-LINK for names and locations and numbers.

County attorney offices and law enforcement programs to assist a victim through criminal justice system, including assistance with Protection Orders.

Experts in domestic violence in every region who can assist with services including obtaining a Protective Order, emergency shelter, counseling and community referrals.

bulletProtective Orders

A Protective Order is an order issued by the court designed to give victims of domestic violence protection by preventing the abuser from having contact with, threatening, or entering onto the property of the victim. There is NO CHARGE to obtain a Protective Order. Assistance with a Protective Order may be obtained by contacting:

            1. Shelter

            2. Victim Assistance Program

            3. DCFS worker

            4. District Court Clerk

bulletLocal Domestic Violence Coalitions or Coordinating Councils

Currently there are 21 local community coalitions or coordinating councils across the state of Utah collaborating in an effort to provide the ppropriate response to domestic violence.  Participants include law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, shelters, and advocates as well as helat care providers, educators and, in some cases, clergy.
