A Protective Order is an order issued by the court designed to give victims of domestic
violence protection by preventing the abuser from having contact with, threatening, or
entering onto the property of the victim. There is NO CHARGE to obtain a Protective Order.

Currently there are 21 local community coalitions or coordinating councils across the
state of Utah collaborating in an effort to provide the ppropriate response to domestic
violence. Participants include law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, shelters, and
advocates as well as helat care providers, educators and, in some cases, clergy. Call Utah
