Elayne P. Pearson

Elayne Potter Pearson – 2001 Mrs. Utah ~ United States, author, health store owner.  She is an accomplished actress, model, and pageant judge. Elayne offers practical, tried and true concepts to build a symbolic umbrella of “stress-busters” to help protect us from the rain showers and serious storms of this life.  Heartfelt personal experiences, stories, songs and scriptures will be given to help set necessary guidelines, give encouragement and further insights.

EDUCATION:
Elayne believes some of the best education one can achieve is from the various experiences and courses from the "University of Life."  She has lived with the variety of complex challenges women face today as not only a wife and mother but also as a mother of a child with Down syndrome and Autism.  She has first hand experience dealing with the stress caused by burn out, prescription drug dependency and the myth of perfectionism. While gaining a solid education from numerous books, professionals and seminars, she has learned even more valuable insights from the Holy Scriptures, other successful parents and the passage of time.

EXPERIENCE AND AWARDS:
As an advocate for the mentally and physically challenged for nearly twenty years, Elayne serves in a wide variety of settings: from giving presentations on disability and vaccine reform awareness, to starting parent support groups and educating on 'Life Balance and Stress Management.'  As a vehicle to do more speaking, Elayne competed and was crowned 'Mrs. Southern Utah' in 1996, then in 2001, won the 'Mrs. Utah ~ United States' title.  She is currently writing a book, titled "What Child is This? - a Mother and Daughter's Bittersweet Journey in and out of Autism." She is writing this book to educate and encourage more health and wellness in America, based on her varied experiences and improvements with Heidi, her Down syndrome/Autistic child.
