Abuse
Understanding and Dealing
With Emotional Abuse in Marriage and Families
The most prevalent form
of abuse in marriages and families---and the least protected by law---is
verbal and emotional abuse. The presenter focuses on the dynamics and
causes of such abuse, explores effective ways to overcome it and how to
protect against it. He presents this sensitive topic in a positive and
interactive way.
Marriage
Marriage: Fun or Failure---
Your Choice
After you have been married for
awhile, it can become easy to take your partner for granted and forget the
little things that brought your marriage together in the first place. This
lively, interactive presentation focuses on positive, fun things you can do to
revitalize your marriage relationship.
Mental Illness
The Three 'R's: Recognizing, Reckoning With or Referring
This
presentation is intended for LDS Ecclesiastical leaders on how to
recognize emotional and psychological problems among church members and
then knowing when to handle them themselves or when to refer to the
professionals. Having served as a bishop and in other leadership
positions, the presenter understands and emphasizes the importance of
inspiration and discernment in the process.
Parenting
Raising Teenagers Successfully---Or Are They Raising You?
Parents have to be “in
charge” when raising their children and learn to rule with an “iron hand
in a velvet glove,” as the saying goes. Learn how teenagers think and
operate, developmentally, how to relate to them in positive ways, and then
how to motivate them to do what they “ought to do” as much as those things
they “want to do.”

Personal and Family Wellness
Building a Two-year Supply of Social, Emotional and
Spiritual Strength
So much is
taught in the LDS
Church about
getting a two-year supply of food, clothing and other physical
essentials. What about preparing ourselves socially, emotionally (or
psychologically) and spiritually? This presentation gives practical and
straight forward advice of how to prepare for and how to cope during times
of crisis.
